Brief Bio
Trained as an opera singer and classical pianist, award-winning singer/songwriter Lilli Lewis has been a composer, producer, performer and event coordinator for over two decades. Lewis made her national presence known as a solo artist with her album “Americana” being a top pick by NPR’s All Songs Considered and Rolling Stone. The Righteous Babe Records recording artist has toured all but two of the contiguous United States while supporting artists like the Indigo Girls and producing events with artists like Lucinda Williams.“ Lewis has been a regularly featured artist at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and has represented New Orleans at fan favorites like French Quarter Fest and The Big Easy Cruise, and has been awarded Best Folk/Country/Americana Album Award from OffBeat Magazine.
The former VP and Head of A&R for Louisiana Red Hot Records has in recent years produced Black Opry Fest, a COVID era virtual festival featuring acclaimed artists from Dwayne Dopsie to Allison Russell, and partnered with Folk Alliance International to present the Black American Music Summit, now in its third year of presenting. Lewis also conceived and co-produced NOLAxNashville (a showcase installation at Nashville's AMERICANAFEST), the Cutting Edge CE Music Business Conference Songwriter’s Camp, and served on the advisory board for New Orleans’ BlackAmericana Fest.
A frequent conference panelist, facilitator and speaker on topics ranging from music industry to social justice, Lewis’ efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the music industry led to a "Spirit of Folk" award from Folk Alliance International. Her dedication to "Practice Radical Decency" often renders her a voice for the voiceless. Her work continues to resonate with audiences nationwide, solidifying her status as a transformative figure in contemporary Americana music.
